About Event

Join us for a fun filled weekend as we photograph several wonderful natural areas close to Cape Girardeau Missouri.

Meet us about 2:00 p.m. at Hickory Canyon for a couple of hours shooting. We will see (depending on the weather) a waterfall and some fall colors surrounding this wonderful nature area. The total walk is about a mile, but some of the trails can be moderately slippery. We have been here several times and it’s always wonderful with the cliffs, fallen trees and creek.

Next on to the hotel and the dinner at Mingle Wood Brewery. Then depending on the sky…we might venture out for some night sky shooting and the Milky Way.

The next morning breakfast at the hotel and then leave at 8:30 a.m.  for the Bollinger Mill trail and Covered Bridge. (30 min drive) You can walk the trail or just wander around the mill for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Leave about 10:45

Next a great local spot for lunch – Kennys Flippin Burgers! At 11:15 to 12:15 ish

After a short lunch we will venture to the Cache River State Natural area (1 hour 15 min drive) where you can wonder through the cypress trees on the walk ways or venture to the other areas from about an hour and a half finishing about 3:00 pm.

Once we are done there you are free to go! Your drive back to St Louis is just over 2 hours!
